Is putting vinegar in a cake normal?!


Question: Is putting vinegar in a cake normal!?
I'm baking an eggless cake (because i have no eggs and i need this cake asap) they said to put:

3 c!. flour
2 c!. sugar
2 tsp!. baking soda
Dash salt
2/3 c!. oil
2 tsp!. vanilla
2 tbsp!. vinegar
2 c!. cold water

Mix well and bake at 350 degrees!. In a 9 x 13 inch ungreased pan for 1 hour!.

does this sound ok to you because i've never herd of vinegar in a cake before!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
