Question: Just found an old bottle of dried sage can I still use it!?
I just stumbled upon 2 bottles of dried sage and dried rosemary that i've had for about 4yrs now!. Can I still use it or do I have to throw them out!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Depends on whether it was tightly capped or not!. Open it, sprinkle a few flakes in your palm and rub your hands together!.Now smell it!. If you can smell the sage, it's still okay to use!. Ditto the rosemary!. They won't harm you if they are old, but spices can lose their flavor over time!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is fine if it is completely dried and tightly capped!. Otherwise I wouldn't risk it!. BTW, I grow sage in my backyard garden!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

probably should toss them and get new
but are they McCormick!?
if they are try this site - it tells you how old they are - its pretty cool
