SOUR CREAM BISCUITS

4 c!. flour
2 tbsp!. baking powder
2 tsp!. salt
2 tsp!. sugar
1/2 tsp!. baking soda
1 c!. shortening

Mix dry ingredients and with pastry blender cut in sour cream and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs!. Knead dough 6 to 8 strokes; if dough is to dry, add a little water a teaspoon at a time!.
Roll dough 1/2 inch thick and cut biscuits; bake on greased cookie sheet 10 to 15 minutes at 425 degrees!.

To do ahead up to 1 month, prepare biscuits and do not bake!. Freeze on cookie sheet; place frozen biscuits in plastic bag and keep frozen!. About 30 minutes before serving time, remove as many as needed and bake!.

CREAM CORN CASSEROLE

2 cans cream corn
1/2 can milk
2 tsp!. sugar
2 eggs, beat up with fork
1/4 stick butter
2 tsp!. vanilla
3/4 c!. bread crumbs (flavored)

Grease casserole dish with butter!. Add ingredients and mix with fork!. Sprinkle top with a few bread crumbs!. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, uncovered!.

Homemade cranberry sauce

1 cup (200 g) sugar
1 cup (255 mL) water
4 cups (1 12-oz package) fresh or frozen cranberries
Optional Pecans, orange peel, raisins, currants, blueberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice!.

1!. Wash and pick over cranberries!. In a saucepan bring to a boil water and sugar, stirring to dissolve sugar!. Add cranberries, return to a boil!. Reduce heat, simmer for 10 minutes or until cranberries burst!.

2!. Add all number of optional ingredients!. We typically mix in a half a cup of roughly chopped pecans with or without a few strips of orange peel!. You can add a cup of raisins or currants!. You can add up to a pint of fresh or frozen blueberries for added sweetness!. Spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg or allspice can be added too!.

3!. Remove from heat!. Cool completely at room temperature and then chill in refrigerator!. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools!.

Yeah I'm glad Depp_lover is back!. I always enjoy her recipes!. Anyway, here are some of my favorites!.

PINEAPPLE AU GRATIN-
1 c!. shredded cheese
3/4 cup!. sugar
20 oz!. pineapple chunks in juice
3 tbsp flour
1 package ritz crackers
1/2 stick margarine, melted
Drain pineapple, reserving 1/2 cup juice!. Combine cheese, sugar and flour!. Add pineaple juice and then pineapple!. Crumble Ritz crackers on top!. Spoon melted butter on top!. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until bubbly!.

RICE AND BROCCOLI CASSEROLE-
Just mix together with out precooking!.
10 oz!. broccoli, thawed, not cooked
2 c!. Minute Rice, uncooked (I use Success Rice)
1 can cream of celery soup
1 soup can water
8 oz!. Cheez Whiz (I like to use more, we like ours really cheesy)
1/2 stick butter, melted
Spray the baking dish with a non stick spray!.
Mix all ingredients together and put in the baking dish and bake for 30 minutes at 350'!.

Hashbrown Potato Casserole
2 pounds!. frozen hashbrowns potatoes, thawed
10 oz pkg cheddar cheese, grated
8 oz!. sourcream
1 can cream of celery
1 tsp!. salt
1 tsp!. pepper
1/2 stick butter, melted
Mix all other ingredients together!. Put in greased casserole!. Bake at 350' for 45-55 minutes

Luau Sweet Potatoes
1 (40 ounce) can yams (the large one!.)
2 bananas, sliced sprinkled with lemon juice
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple
4 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons rum
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
3 ounces chopped macadamia nuts
1!. Preheat oven to 350
2!. Place yams in an ovenproof dish and add bananas!.
3!. Combine remaining ingredients, except nuts!.
4!. Pour over yams and bananas!.
5!. Sprinkle with nuts!.
6!. Bake at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes until bubbly!.

Company Sweet Potatoes
3 c!. mashed sweet potatoes
1/2 c!. milk
2 eggs
1 c!. sugar
1/3 c!. butter or margarine
1 tsp!. vanilla
Combine all ingredients and pour into baking dish!.
Top with the following:
1 c!. coconut
1 c!. brown sugar
1/3 c!. melted butter or margarine
1 c!. chopped nuts
1/3 c!. flour
Blend coconut, nuts, brown sugar and flour; then, add the melted butter!. Sprinkle over the potatoes!. Bake at 375' until brown - about 25 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
