Answers:
If you're using just water, then you're essentially boiling the chops!. I don't think they will taste that great!. Obviously, they will be healthier than if you had fried them in oil!.

What I would do instead!. Would be to brush them with a bit of olive oil (good fat) and bake them in the oven!. Season them well with salt & pepper and maybe a bit of garlic powder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your not "frying " the chops if you're using water!. You're "poaching" them!. also, when you "fry" pork chops, you're not "deep frying" them which means you're going to cover them in oil!. If you use 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1 tablespoon of oil in a saute pan (fry pan) it's still a healthy meal!. If you figure that your frying 4 chops, that's 1/2 Tablespoon of oil/butter per chop!. And, most of that oil will be left in the pan when you take the chops out!. Adding a little vegetable oil to the butter will raise it's burning point!.

Don't cook them in water, your chops will end up like boiled meat, tough and flavorless, unless you cook them for a long time which will make them more tender!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pork is bred to be so much leaner that you can enjoy pork chops fried in a little bit of olive oil without feeling guilty at all!. The thing to know, in fact, is to cook them for a very short time!. In fact, if you rely on your mom's old cook book, for goodness' sake don't follow the time suggestion for cooking pork!.

Pork used to be marbled and a much more fatty meat!. It was also sold with thick strips of fat on each chop, which most people relished with delight! Check the website I am listing below for some tips and recipes, and enjoy!

Incidentally, most pork-producing states have a pork council, and they just love handing out recipes, coupons, they have contests, etc!. so search the web by typing in pork council +state name and see what you can find!

Basicly if your using more then say an in of water in the skillet your boiling the chopps which can make the meat tough!. If your looking for a very healthy alternative Brush with a bit of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, salt and pepper or spice of your liking!. And place in a shallow baking sheet
Bake at 350 to 375 for 1 hr or til your thermometer reads 160 at the thickest part of the chop!. Remove the chops, let rest" Dont touch" this allows any juices to flow back in to the meat so its tender, juicy and perfect!. Serve with your choice of sides and enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Frying means cooking something in hot fat or oil!. You cannot fry something in water!. You can boil it in water, but not fry!. And no, for pork chops, cooking in water is a bad idea!. You can always grill or broil the chops, which usually works pretty well and does not add any fat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Braise them in olive oil and garlic and onions!.
After browning, add 1/2 tp 3/3 cup rice cooking wine (or white wine), cover and cook till they reach 170 degrees F at the bone or center of the chop!.
Serve with fresh and cooked veggies, balancing your starch intake with vegetables or legumes for a complete protein balance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Frying involves fat, braising involves water or stock!. Boiling, involves submersing the meat in the water!. You will still lose some of the nutrients in the steam, but yes it is fine

If you want to braise, it is best to put it in the oven at about 300 degrees!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

technically it would be slightly healthier but the meat gets a lot tougher to eat there are other great recipes that are healthier for you such as http://southernfood!.about!.com/od/porkcho!.!.!. you can search other recipies as well!. and don't worry about being a new cook most recipes will turn out fine if you just follow the stepsWww@FoodAQ@Com

first of all pork chops are not essential in any vitamins, minerals or proteins!.

no matter how you cook this item!.!. it's only going to give you fats!.!.!. that's it!.

the protein isn't soluable and the digestive tract will not process this element properly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think that pork chops has a lot of fat in it and oils already so i still don't believe it's healthy, if you don't need to eat it you shouldn't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Steamed pork chops are great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
