Question: Do you have this recipe!?
I once had a green apple pie recipe from this book, "Wanda E!. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Cookbook"!. It was very easy and few ingredients!. There was no crust!. Sliced apples, brown sugar, but I cannot remember the rest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't have that book, but I found a recipe that looks like what you're describing!. Hope it helps :)

Amish Delight Apple Pie

3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk

Melt butter in a 9-inch cast iron skillet!. Add apples and toss lightly with butter!. Saute 5 minutes!.

Mix sugar, cinnamon and pinch of salt!. Pour over apples!. Stir gently!. Remove apples with slotted spoon!. Set skillet aside!.

In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt!. Stir in milk!. Pour into skillet and stir until smooth!. Return apples to skillet and stir gently!. Put into 350 degree F oven for 40 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make this all the time but have no recipe!.!.I will try to think of how I do it!.!.sliced apples approx!. 3 cups 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup margerine dash of salt!.!.and 1 cup flour or oatmeal which ever you prefer!. cream marg and sugar add salt and then add flour but rub with your hands until it is llike coarse cornmeal!.!.put on top of apples in lightly greased baking pan and bake at 350 for around 25 minWww@FoodAQ@Com

If there wasn't a crust, I would imagine that it was topped with some sort of crumble!. Do a google search for apple crumble!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
