JALAPENO COOKING ADVICE PLEASE!?!
I'm making my Jalapeno bites for the after party T-Day night and would like to know if you can cut the jalapeno and basically blanch them in cold water overnight to bring down the heat in them!. This after veining them and deseeding of course!. Will this help OR will they get water logged from being in it for to long!. I'm trying to dumb down the heat a bit for the kids!. These are the halved jalapenos filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon bites people make!. My family loves them but some of them are light weights and need them to be a bit cooler!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That sounds good!. My suggestion is keep em hot!. You can make a few different ones for the kids by using Middle Eastern Dates instead of Jalapenos!. They are the same size but sweet!. I make these!. Way Better than Jalapenos!. Stuff the Date with Ricotta cheese and wrap with bacon!. Try a few for the kids and you and the adults will fall in love!. Make em both!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't think a water soak will reduce the heat!. You would have to remove capsaicin and water won't do that, it's oil based!.
If you have time I'd suggest getting some milder peppers for your milder people!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would use lemon juice instead of water!. The juice will help "cook" the Jalapeno and help decrease the heat!. And yes, De-seeding and deveining will also help lower the heat as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If I could give any advice, it would be to wear plastic gloves when handling hot peppers - no need for you to be in hand agony for 3 days!.
