Question: What are some of your favorite side dishes!?
I am making christmas dinner this year for about 25 people for the first time!. I am making ham as the main dish!. What are some side dishes that I can have with it!? I want some new and different dishes!. What are some of your favorite dishes or ones that you have at the holidays!?Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
Potatoes Au Gratin
Pare & slice about one large Russet potato per person served!.
Layer in deep casserole dish with slices of yellow onion, salt, pepper, grated cheddar, Swiss, and Parmesan cheeses!. Pour in milk, cream, or whatever you can have in your coffee up to but not over the top layer of potatoes!.
Cover!.
Bake at 350 degrees F for one hour or until potatoes are fork tender!. Stir if necessary!.

Creamed Spinach
Cook frozen spinach according to package directions!. Drain!. Combine with softened package of cream cheese and a little warm milk!. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper!.

Winter Squash
Prepare one squash per two people served!.
Grease a large baking pan with high sides!.
Cut squash in half!. Make a small slice on outside edge so each side sits flat in pan!.
Remove seeds and sinews!. Fill hollow with brown sugar, a pat of butter, and cinnamon and nutmeg!.
Fill baking pan about 1 inch with water!.
Bake for 30 to 45 minutes are until squash is tender at 350 degrees F!.
Allow to cool slightly before serving!.

Slice French bread along the long axis!. Spread each half with butter, minced garlic, and Kosher salt!. Broil until butter melts!. Slice, and serve warm!.

Fruit soup
Rehydrate 1/2 lb!. dried apples, apricots, pears, plums, and pineapples in two quarts water: add 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon cloves!. Bring to a boil, cover, turn off heat!.
Puree, chill, and serve as either an appetizer or dessert!.

My favorite thing ever is the stuffing at the Honey Baked Ham store!. I don't even bother making it myself!. Can't outdo that one!. also I like mashed potatoes with roasted garlic, chopped chives, sour cream, butter, and whole milk!. I usually do broccoli in a butter sauce & corn!. This year we had creamed corn which was pretty good!. I love sauteed spinach!. I know green bean casseroles are pretty popular, scalloped potatoes are great too, and I always have to have flaky buttermilk biscuits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baked macaroni and cheese, scalloped potatoes, potato salad, cabbage, collard greens, wild rice with almonds, cheddar-broccoli rice, collard greens, pasta salad with crabmeat, tomatoes, and cucumber!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

our family is quite diverse,so we have a variety!.from macaroni salad,deviled eggs,dressing,salad,mashed potatoes,spring rolls or egg rolls,asian noodles,pie!.maybe some of that will help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
