Can someone give some insight about baking chocolate chip cookies?!

Question: Can someone give some insight about baking chocolate chip cookies!?
I have been baking since I was a teenager!. But lately I am having difficulty with the simplest of recipes!. When I bake choc chip cookies, the cookie part tastes bland! It isn't the recipe's fault, I use Nestle Toll House recipe!. What could possibly be causing this to happen!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

In addition to sarah I, I would tend to add, people seem to add too much choc chip of the size that is going on the baking sheet!.Please remember that recipe's are a guide and not the bible, you can make some alterations to suit yourself, nothing is set firm in stone!.

The most common problems would be using baking soda instead of baking soda (or vice versa)!.
Another problem might be adding things in the wrong order!. If you don't add the dry ingredients in the right order, sometimes the salt does not mix in fully, and the cookies taste bad!.

Hope this helps =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you use baking powder instead of baking soda!. (or other way around!.) Or sometimes things on the pagage changes, like the company tries to make the food better!. They might have slightly changed the recipe to make it better!. And maybe the recipe befor cooked better in your oven!. (cause' diff!. ovens have dif!. cooking styles!.) so maybe thats it! hope this helped! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

It could be your tastes are changing!. I know things that I enjoyed eating 20 years ago do not appeal to me today!.

also, your taste buds may not be working as well as they should!. Or your nasal passages could be blocked because of allergies or a cold!.

Keep an eye on it but I do thing our tastes change as time passes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It could be in the margarine you are using, try butter of smart balance!. That will pep up the taste!. I just made a batch last week, they are additive!

It makes no difference when you add ingredients, I put everything in the bowl and then stir, I have been doing that for years!.

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

my be it's your taste buds!. Are you catching a cold or are your sinus bothering you!?!? That could be why nothing is tasting the way it should!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
