I had a pot luck recently and was able to provide them withsteak for under $20!.00

I went to Publix and picked a ball of meat- bottom cut or sirloin, whatever is there and had the meat department cut it into very thin slices!.

When I got home I took half of it and placed in water with beef boullion blocks, sliced onions and let it reduce for a couple of hours!. Make sure you have plenty of water!. You can also by pass the time and water by using a pressure cooker with only a bit of water!. You can add pepper to taste and bit of canned tomato sauce!. (even a bit of ketchup will help)

I also added onions towards the end and let them reduce!

The meat turned out super tender and was a great hit! The water mixure reduced to a great sauce!

You can also boil potatoes and place them on the side or mix them with beef so that it can give the sauce more thickness!

How about an indian or chinese dish as there is already a pasta one!.

Currys can be made quite quickly and cheaply!. And by doing a vegetable one can be even cheaper than using meat in it! Just buy vegatables (peas, carrots, broccoli, baby corn!.!.!.) and add it to a sauce (tikka masala, korma) and stick it in the oven for around 40-50mins!.

serve with rice and/or naan bread/poppadoms!.
