I made a Ham yesterday . It was wraped in a stocking type deal.Was I suppossed to take it out of the stocking ?!

I burnt it somewhat it got stuck to the ham !.Thanks :) I did have a Turkey on stand by !.

Yes, you need to remove the stocking before you cook the meat!. Otherwise, it is very difficult to get off, and the cooked meat usually breaks apart, shreds or clings to the stocking as you remove it!. But, you must remove it carefully, or you will tear and shred the meat also!. Take your fingers at the top of the piece of meat and gently pull outward about an inch of the sections of thread, until you have gone all around once!. It will feel like a stretched out sock!. Now, gently duplicate this movement all around the meat, going downward inch by inch!. It is kind of like the delicacy of putting on a stocking, in reverse!. This method works wonderfully, with not a bit of lost meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. It is probably a nice "Country Ham" they should also be soaked in water for a while to remove some of the salt that was used in the curing process!. Otherwise the ham is very salty!.
