Greek cucumber sauce?!


Question: Greek cucumber sauce!?
i dont have any cucumbers to make my tzatziki sauce!.!.!. can i make it with shreaded carrots instead!?!?!? i know it will have a different flavor, but i dont have any cucumbers!.!. and they arent in the stores arround here right now!.!.!.!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Edstir the question is not asking for the recipe!. It is asking if carrots can be substituted for he cucumbers!.!.!. I hate it when people don't even read the question!.!.!.

To answer your question:
The cucumber is what makes the sauce tzatziki!.!. Sorry but without the cucumbers you won't have tzatziki!.
You can definetly try carrots but for the most part, it won't even taste close enough, though it might be good!. Just something else!.
I know zucchini would definetly taste good, better option than carrots in my opinion!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ingredients
2 cups yogurt
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 shallot, minced
1 tablespoon parsley, minced
1 tablespoon finely chopped mint
1/2 teaspoon cumin, ground
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large pinch salt
Ground white pepper, to taste
Directions
Drain the yogurt in a cheesecloth-lined strainer set over a bowl for 1 hour!.

In a bowl, combine all ingredients!. Serve as a salad dressing

The essence of the tzatziki sauce is the cucumbers!. I don't know how it will taste with carrots, but it won't be tzatziki!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
