How do you smoke a marinated tri tip?!
My husband bought a marinated trip tip, how long do we smoke it!? Does it need to be at a certain temperature!? Any help is appreciatedWww@FoodAQ@Com

WHOA! Great idea, to smoke it, but!.!.!.you can't smoke marinated meat!. Once it's marinated, the smoke will not permiate the meat, so there is no point trying!.
Next time, buy the meat without any marinade and you can smoke it!. Please be aware that you smoke the meat to give it flavor, *not* to cook it!. Most smokers will 'cold smoke' to give flavor 'before' roasting!. A good trip to suggest is to use an empty tin can and place it in the BBQ, with wood chips for smokers make the wood chips damp and cover the tin can in foil and poke a few holes in it!. When you preheat the BBQ, the smoke will appear and 'flavor' the meat!.
Is this where you turn to Hubby and say "I told you it wouldn't work!.!.!." ;)

I almost think it should be broiled!. But, I wouold use a meat thermometer and smoke it to an internal temp of 160!. or get a chunk of tinfoil and make an open topped box, fill it with soaked woodchips and put the whole works on a barbecue!. indirect heat for the meat, direct for the chips and cook to temp!.
