These are best glazed with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk and then sprinkled with colored sugar after they cool!. The dough can also be used to make Thumbprint cookies!. You will need a strong mixer – a KitchenAid helps, but you can always knead in the rest of the flour!. The dough does not spread or distort – they can be baked fairly close together and can be shipped or transported without breaking!.
1 cup (2 sticks) butter (do NOT use oleo or spread)
? cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups sifted all purpose flour
? tsp baking powder
Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy!.
Add egg and vanilla extract!.
Add flour and baking powder!.
Mix until mixture clings together!.
Gather into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate one hour!.
Roll out between ? and 1/2 inch thick!. Bake 5 to 6 minutes at 375F!.
Cool on wire rack before glazing or frosting!.

Absolutely - Gingerbread all the way, with a simple white ice frosting!. Gingerbread is traditional in europe at christmas and can be made into all kinds of shapes!. It is a great tradition to build a model house from it and then decorate it with icing to make a door, windows and snow on the roof but you can simply make christmas trees with snow frosting, stars with frosting twinkles, baubles with patterns on etc!.!.!. 1-2 tsp grated orange rind 1 tbsp orange juice
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt!.
Beat butter and sugar in large bowl until smooth!. Beat in egg, orange
rind and juice!.
Add flour mixture, a third at a time stirring well!. Shape dough into a
ball, flatten slightly!. Wrap in plastic wrap!. Refrigerate for a few hours!.
Preheat oven to 350!.
Roll out half the dough on lightly floured surface to an 1/8th thickness!.
Cut into any shapes you fancy and place on lightly greased cookie
sheet!. 7 to 8 minutes or until golden brown!. Remove and cool completely!. Decorate with frosting of your choice!.

12 graham crackers (approx!.)
1 c!. butter
1 c!. brown sugar, packed
1 c!. pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees!. Line a 12x18 inch jelly roll pan with graham crackers!.
Melt butter and brown sugar in microwave until sugar is dissolved (approximately 1 to 2 minutes on high power)!. Pour butter/sugar mixture over graham crackers to coat them!. Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over top!.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes!. Cool to lukewarm and cut with knife into rectangles (yielding 48 bars) or when completely cooled break it as brittle is broken!. Fast easy cookie that nut lovers enjoy!

2/3 c!. oil

6 oz!. chocolate chips or any other flavor candy chips
Combine all of above ingredients except the chocolate chips!. Mix everything together well!. Then add your chocolate chips; mix well!. Teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet!. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes!. Makes 2-3 dozen cookies!. Easy enough for the kids to make!

In another bowl with mixer on low speed, beat cream cheese with remaining 1/2 cup sugar, remaining egg, and remaining 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well blended!. Increase speed to medium and continue to beat for 2 minutes, scraping bowl from time to times!. Spoon mixture in dollops over the chocolate batter!. With the end of a butter knife, swirl the cream cheese batter over the surface, blending it into the chocolate layer a bit!. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean!. Cool in pan on a wire rack then cut into bars!. Makes about 3 dozen!. Store these bars, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week!.

1/3 cup seedless raisins

Cream together fat, sugar, salt, and molasses!.
Add the beaten egg, and mix the same as for oat cookies; then add the other ingredients in the order given and bake the same as for oat cookies!.
