How can you tell when chicken is fully cooked?!

Question: How can you tell when chicken is fully cooked!?
Answers:
Good question, ive always cooked chicken longer than 30mins if i didnt then i would be scared that it was undercooked and that i would get salmonella!. You know when u watch cooking shows they always say cook the chicken 3-4mins on each side, and im like that does not sound safe, sooooooooo yesterday i actually went to walmart and bought myself a meat thermometer so i wouldnt be so paranoid!. And on my thermometer it says poultry has to be 170 degrees!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use a instant read meat thermometer what ever I'm cooking i pick the thickest part and stab it in to the bone then pull back 1/8 inch to get reading poultry should be done @180 degrees I do the same with steaks but only in about half way through I got my done temp from any meat thermometer which can be bought at any store!. Smoked Ham, Beef rare 140* Beef medium!.ham 160* Beef well, veal, pork, lamb 170* Poultry 180*Www@FoodAQ@Com

Push on it, there should be some resistance, push down on it, when liquid comes out it should not be red, look at the white meat, it should all be white not red, and if there is a LITTLE red cook it a bit more!.!.!. the inside should be atleast 165 degrees for 15 seconds then it will be doneWww@FoodAQ@Com

Stick a meat thermometer in the thickest part of the thigh being careful not to touch the bone!. It should read 165 for any type of poultry!.

If you dont have a thermometer then cut into it near the bone and see if it still looks pink!. The bone should appear brown or gray with no pink visible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

So far so good!. You can also see if the leg joint comes apart!. If you can separate the leg from the thigh by bending it and the joint comes apart easily its done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Either use a meat thermometer (should be above 160 degrees) or cut the chicken open to see if there is no pink color (should not be pink in the middle)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When the temp is 160 or higher with a meat thermometer!. Or when the juices run clear and there is no pink inside when you cut it open!. =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

When the Meat is all white and Not Raw, I mean Nothing Pink and Jelly, just smooth and Juicy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

With a meat thermometer, check for 160F!.
Without one, pierce with sharp knife, check for clear juices!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
