my favorite frosting/icing is a cream cheese frosting as I haven't had a cake that it doesn't work well with!.

2 8oz pks of cream cheese (room temperature)
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and beat with a hand mixer until smooth!. How is easy was that, and it's absolutely delicious!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pour one cup of powdered sugar in a medium/small bowl!.
Add 1-3 tablespoons of milk!. (chocolate)
Stir with a spoon!.
Make sure it is not too runny or too thick!. If it is too thick, add a splash of milk!. If it is too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar!.
Add lemon juice or vanilla extract for flavor, if wanted !.
Spread the frosting on the cake!. Let the cake cool thoroughly first!.

Cut up 1!.5 lbs of unsalted butter into small pieces and slowly add to egg white mix!. (You may not need all of the butter!.) Whisk until fluffy again!. There is a simple butter cream frosting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use a pkg of room temp!. cream cheese and a small pkg of powdered sugar!. Mix well and spread on!. (or you could substitute room temp butter or even shortnening instead of cream cheese)

Or you can just take a bag of powdered sugar add a very tiny amount of water (try on teaspoon at a time) until it reaches a glaze consistancy!.

I dont know measurements since I have always eyeballed it til it looked like the right consistency!.
