Can I make sorbets with a powerful blender?!

Question: Can I make sorbets with a powerful blender!?
My icecream maker broke!. If made a sorbet mix and froze it, then crushed it with the blender, and then froze it again would it work as well to make sorbet as an icecream maker!? Would it at least be ok!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
don't freeze your sorbet mix totally hard!. Leave it a bit on the soft or slushy side!. Put in the blender or break up with a fork, and refreeze until it is the texture you want it!.

I have never done the sorbet in the freezer!. Have always done it with a fork or potato masher!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

anon_guy, I am on the same wave length as Sue!. I do not use an ice cream maker, I wouldn't own one at the price you can buy ice cream for now days!. A proper sorbet, should hold its shape and solidify, I guess you would call it without over freezing, I use a sorbet purely as a pallet cleanser between certain dishes!.

Be sure not to over freeze it!. Make sure that it's still just a little slushy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
