Any mixer by KA is a heavy-duty one!. If you do a lot of double batches, I'd suggest you go by bowl size, and buy the biggest one you can find!. The brand is safe and solid!. I've had my KA mixer for 16 yeasrs now w/o a bit of trouble! KA rocks!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have been looking at Kitchen Aid mixers for a long time, and researched them heavily before finally purchasing one this fall!.
I decided on the larger, 6 quart professional model over the Artisan based on customer reviews, power, and bowl capacity!. It has 575 watts of power, which is considerably more than the smaller ones, and I have used it every day!
For a mixer that will be an investment like this, I would suggest getting the larger one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Unless you're making large batches of high-gluten breads stick with the Artisan!. The Artisan can handle any household mixing or kneading you're going to throw at it!. Like the commenter said above, any mixer by KitchenAid is worth the money and will last pretty much a lifetime!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Annie listen to sugar pie she has hit the nail on the head!.
