Answers:
I love fried mac and cheese!.

The best way I've found to do it is to make up your favorite mac and cheese recipe (the traditional baked kind that is like a casserole, not the liquidy kind it won't work)!. Make a large batch and enjoy it fresh that night!. The next day (for breakfast perhaps) Cut the left over casserole into wedges, dip each wedge in an egg dredge, and then coat with panko (Japanese) bread crumb (though normal will work fine)!. Then deep fry in canola oil!. Since it's been cooked already you only need to fry it long enough to set up the outside and warm the inside!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Deep Fried Mac and Cheese

* Plain bread crumbs, for dredging

* 1 recipe "The Lady's Cheesy Mac
* and cut into 15 squares

Directions:

Heat 2 inches of oil in a large, heavy Dutch oven to 350 degrees F!.

Dredge each Cheesy Mac square in flour, then egg, and then bread crumbs to coat!. Fry for about 1 minute on each side until golden brown!. Drain on paper towels before serving!.

The Lady's Cheesy Mac:

2 cups grated Cheddar
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces

Once you have the macaroni cooked and drained, place in a large bowl and while still hot, add the Cheddar!. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and add to the macaroni mixture!. I tried it!. Once I figured out how to make my mac and cheese clump together, it was easy!. The major problem I had was my mac and cheese was too gooey!. It would not stick together long enough to dip in the batter and then fell apart in the deep fryer!. So, I used a bit less cheese and more macaroni and then let sit in the fridge overnight, so it became more or less solidified!. Then I used a knife to cut "blocks" which I stuck on a skewer and then dipped and deep fried exactly like a corn dog, and ate them in the same manner!. My best results came from the $1 cheap boxed mac and cheese since that gets really HARD if left overnight, but the taste lacks a great deal compared to my home made recipe from my mom!. I cut into about 1" cubes and used toothpicks to make finger food for snacks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've made it before, but it was in a pie!. Super-yummy!. I got one of those nifty folding things as a gift, you know, where you can place a sheet of dough on them, add a filling, then shut it, and it automatically crimps the edges!? It makes awesome little hand-held-sized pies!. I made these for Thanksgiving with an extra-cheesy mac and cheese recipe!. I baked mine, but it would work just as well fried -- or you can bake them and lose a few calories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Never tried it before!. After reading the three responses I think I am going to try it!. Not the same, but I am making deep fried oysters tonight, first go at it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.hope they turn out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
