Which type of pan is better?!
I was looking at pans today!. I found Calphon (!?) and Paula Dean, Rachelle Ray pans!. Do you think the brands with the shows would have better pans because they are related to the shows or just get the brand name pans!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think the best kind is an anodized aluminum (like the Calphalon) with a non-stick coating!. I have had a set of Analon pans for several years and they are the best I've ever had!. The anodized aluminum is great for heat transfer, so you don't get hot spots!. Rather, the heat is very evenly distributed across the entire pan!. A good set of basic anodized aluminum pots and pans will run about $250 or more!.
There are some very high-end pans that are very highly polished stainless steel!. The polished surface almost acts as a non-stick surface if you use the right kind of oils or sprays!. These can be about $1000 for a basic set of pots and pans!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When a chef or a famous person advertises a product we the consumer are attracted to it because we trust the person that backs them up , these pans are expensive a better quality then others if they would be of a lesser quality the flop wont look good in respect of the promoter's name , so if you like a pan you need to look at the weight the edge, if they are well finished no sharp edges to cut your fingers, and the warranty than I say that you would be satisfied with your purchase !.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Pans are just!.!.pans!. Just because the company spends alot of money on advertising on cooking shows doesn't mean that their particular product is the best!.
When you buy a pan, you typically look at what type it is (teflon, aluminium or stainless steel) and it's thickness (2mm, 2!.5mm, and 3mm)!.
I prefer thicker pans because it heats up more regularly than thinner ones and you won't burn your food as easily!.
Different materials have different heating properties!. Some distribute heat better than others, some have better non-stick properties!. It all depends on your cooking style!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think if its a pan, its a pan!. The shows are going to sell pans for a lot more expensive!. You're paying for the name, not the product!. Rachelle Ray sells chicken stock for a lot more expensive than other brands!. It doesn't taste any different than the Walmart brand! Ask your grandparents what pans they use and which ones have lasted the longest!. My Betty Crocker pans have lasted me for years!. Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com
