Can someone tell me what IS a dump cake?!


Question: Can someone tell me what IS a dump cake!?
I just asked a Question about making cake and someone said I should make a dump cake but what's a dump cake!?Is it a cake made from what ever you have in the fridge!?Just need some info about what she telling me to do!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dump Cake is a dessert, you take cans of fruit!.!.!.(strawberrys, cherrys, pineapple, etc!.!.!.)!. Then you just put a simpile crust on it!. It is yummy here is a recipe:


Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hours,
Ingredients:
1 (20 ounces) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 (21 ounces) can prepared more fruit cherry pie filling
1 (18!.25 ounces) box yellow cake mix
2 sticks of butter or margarine, each cut into 12 slices
1/4 cup chopped nuts (your choice - optional)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 for glass baking dish)!. Have a 9 by 13-inch baking pan ready!.

Dump undrained pineapple baking dish or pan and spread it out evenly!.

Using a spoon, dump globs of cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple!.

Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers!.

Cut butter into slices with a butter knife and place slices evenly over cake mix!.

Sprinkle nuts on top if you're using them!.

Bake for one hour!. Use heavy oven mitts to remove the dump cake from oven or let your older helper do it!.

To serve, scoop cake out with a large spoon like a cobbler, and dump it on a nice plate!. A scoop of vanilla ice cream is delicious with dump cake!. Serve warm or cold!.

Peach Dump Cake
2 cups frozen peaches, sliced (undrained)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
18 ounces Jiffy white cake mix (or 1/2 package of a 2-layer size cake mix)
4 tablespoons melted butter

Lightly grease the slow cooker/Crock Pot; place peaches in the bottom!.

Drizzle with vanilla and sprinkle brown sugar over all!.

Cherry Dump Cake

1 box white or yellow cake mix
1/4 pound butter or margarine -- at room
1/2 cup nuts* -- chopped
2 cans prepared cherry pie -- filling
walnuts or pecans are best for this recipe

In a mixer blend the cake mix with the butter until it is fine and crumbly!. Take out and save about 1 cup of the mixture!. The remainder is pressed into the bottom of a 9x14" baking pan!.

Bake at 350* for about 15 minutes, or until lightly brown!. Pour the cherry pie filling over the hot baked crust!. Mix the chopped nuts to the remaining cake mix mixture, and sprinkle over the pie filling!. Return to the oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the mix mixture is lightly browned!.

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!.

Variations: Use chocolate cake mix and use apple pie filling, or chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling--use your imaginations!.





Pumpkin Dump Cake

4 Eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c Sugar
1 ts Salt
2 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Nutmeg
1/2 ts Cloves
2 c Cooked pumpkin
12 oz Can of Milnot
1 Yellow cake mix
1/2 c Chopped pecans
2 Sticks of melted margarine

Mix first 8 ingredients together!. Pour into a 13x9 inch pan!.
Sprinkle cake mix evenly over pumpkin mixture!. Sprinkle chopped
pecans over the cake mix, then pour melted margarine evenly over the
cake mix!. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour (or more)!. Watch time as
ovens vary somewhat!. Serve with Cool Whip on top!.

A dump cake is a cake you litterally dump into the pan!.

Like here is a recipe for dump cake:

1 box white cake mix (prepared)
1 can pinapple
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup shredded coconut
1 jar marachino cherries

I have never tried it but it looks good, even thought i am alergic to pinapple and coconut!. Hope this helps!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

In a 9x13 inch pan mix cherries and pineapple!. Sprinkle dry cake mix over pineapple, and cherry mixture stir until just combined!. Then sprinkle walnuts over top!. Drizzle top with melted butter or margarine!.
Bake in a 350 degree F (175 degree C) oven for 35 or 40 minutes or until golden brown!.

a dump cake is making a cake with what ever you have on hand to make a cake with!. if the recipe might call for pear's & you have none just dump peaches in instead hence dump cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
