For weekday dinners where I need it fast I do the following:
I use Uncle Bens converted rice!.
In a pot, I place a small chopped onion and garlic and shredded carrot in 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tblspn of oil!.
I cook that for 5 minutes on med flame
I then add 1 cup of rice and stir for 2 minutes!.
I then add 2 cups of chicken broth or water and stir for 30 seconds
Put the lid on the rice and set timer for 25 minutes on low-med flame
Do NOT lift lid!.
After 25 minutes turn flame off, do not lift lid and let it sit covered for 5 minutes!.
Fluff with a fork and serve hot!.

Rice in a bag is par-boiled rice that cooks in a microwave in 90 seconds!. It's pretty expensive compared to regular rice!.
Here's my method:
Combine one cup rice and two cups of water in a saucepot and bring to a boil!. Clap a lid on it and turn the heat down to Low!. If you’re using a gas stove, that’s a little wispy flame!. If you’re using an electric stove, that’s like 2 clicks from Off!. Here’s the hardest part: resist the urge to lift the lid for 15 minutes!. Taste a forkful; it should be tender and there should be a wee bit of water remaining in the bottom of the pot!. Replace the lid and continue cooking for another 5 minutes!. Turn off the heat and allow the rice to sit (with the lid on it) on the burner until ready to serve!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The classic recipe for great rice is simple!.
Take one cup of rice (not converted rice!!! like Uncle Ben's rice) and place in a large ( 4 cup) measuring cup or bowl!. Add clean cold water and swirl around for a bit!. Pour the rice through a sieve or strainer!. Repeat 5 - 8 times!.
This rids the rice of its excess starch!.
Place rice in a 4 cup pot with lid!. Add 1 1/2+ cups of cold water and place burner on high!. Meanwhile, start another stove burner on very low heat!.
When rice water starts boiling up the sides remove the pot from the high burner and place on low burner with lid!.
Cook 15 minutes!.
Perfect, light, fluffy rice every time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ok so I am a great cook and when it comes to rice, no measuring here!. I warm a little bit of oil, once it is warm i add the rice and mix it up, making sure they oil is enough to cover the rice!. I let it cook like that for a few minutes!. In the meanwhile i cut 3 or 4 tomatoes, depending on size, one piece of garlic and one cube of chicken bouillon!. i then put enough water to cover that in a blender!. Blend it and add it the rice!. cover and put on low heat and cook for about twenty minutes, gas stove!. If it looks like it is getting dry, add a little more water!. 10 minutes after you add the tomatoes, add salt!. ta da, you have spanish rice!.!.!.ymmmWww@FoodAQ@Com
I like Carolina White Rice!.!.!.it comes in a brown box!. Boil in some VERY lightly salted water and follow the box directions depending on how much you want to make!. Be sure to watch the rice because it will ruin the pot if it sticks to the bottom for too long!. After you drain the rice, pour a little coconut oil in and a few jasmine leaves to add to your serving!. Coconut jasmine rice is my favorite kind!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have an electric rice cooker!. If you use a lot of rice, this is the way to go!. You just add the rice and water!. Once the rice is done my cooker goes to a "keep warm" state!. No surprises with the rice using this cooker!. You can find good ones in oriental stores, although they are rather pricy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I like to make jasmine rice, so I put 2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice!. Let the water boil and then I put the rice in!. I leave the water boiling while the rice is in there until there is not too much water left!. Then I cover the rice and turn the burner off!. Let it sit for about 15 mins and thats it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I like to make risotto - so in a pan with wine, stock, parmigiano reggiano cheese, salt, pepper and whatever I feel like putting in it!
