what am I doing wrong!?!? Its so annoying!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
People- it says "RICE COOKER" That means it cooks the rice by its self in a closed container- the heat/burner is internal- no temp adjusting options!.
That said!.!.!. Usually this means your not adding enough water or the heating element is too hot for some reason- (flawed cooker)
Rinse the rice once or twice right in the cooking pot- then fill it till the water covers the rice - when you put your pinki finger in the water and touch the top of the rice - the water level should reach the middle of your first knuckle!. (about 3/4th inch) This way of measuring works regardless of how much rice your cooking!. For your pot- try go deeper-over the first knuckle!. (1" of water above rice)
For good measure- do stir the rice at least once a few minutes after it starts boiling!.
Lastly- you can try this- pre soak the rice in the cooking water for about 30 minutes to an hour- to soften it up some- run the cooker until when you look in- there is no visible water bubbling- stir once- close top and switch to warmer or unplug and let it sit!. The idea is to reduce the time the rice is getting direct heat!.
Here's another method- microwave your rice- use a glass bowl with a ceramic plate on top as a cover- measure as usual- to the first knuckle deep over top of rice- place second plate under to catch any boil over (happens if cooking bowl is too small) Zap it for 15 minutes- stir/ recover and let sit another 5 minutes!. Done!. Adjust length of cooking and amount of water as needed!.
Speed up rice cooker rice by putting pot right on burner on high heat- stirring till it comes to a rolling boil- transfer to rice cooker- close it up- hit cook- and about 7 minutes later- its done!. Let it sit at least 5 minutes!. It takes the rice cooker most of the cooking time just to heat the rice to a boil!.

It burns the rice on the bottom because right below the pot is where everything is heated!. Try setting the rice cooker to a lower setting or something!. When I'm cooking rice, the bottom comes out a little brown but it's good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
after the water is boiling , add the rice, stir, add butter, cook on a low heat for 20 minutes or until done, let sit in pot with fire off for 5 minutes before serving!. always fluff with fork, not spoon as it breaks the kernels!.!.EnjoyWww@FoodAQ@Com
