Substituting a baguette w/ crackers?!

Question: Substituting a baguette w/ crackers!?
I was thinking of serving cucumbers and cream cheese + smoked salmon and cream cheese (separately) on baguettes, but don't think I'll have time to slice up the baguettes!. (Besides, good baguettes are pricey!.)

Can I substitute with saltines/crackers instead, or would that be too weird/cheap!?

This would be for an informal social mixer!.

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Triscuits would be nice!.!.!.Regular, Rosemary/Garlic and Tomato!. You could also buy sliced white/wheat bread, trim the crusts, and cut into triangular wedges!. That's nice for tea parties in TX!. It should be fine for an informal mixer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, you can!.!.!.but make sure it is a good cracker, not a saltine, eww!.

I buy baguettes in my grocery for $1!.69 for a long one --- which would be about 30 crackers, if sliced thin!. I think crackers are about the same price!. I know you don't want to slice, but it would be better!. I LOVE baguette crackers!.

Otherwise, use a decent cracker -- it'll make all the diff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

not only cheaper but a lot more senseable and alot easier to handleWww@FoodAQ@Com
