Answers:
It is pretty hard to screw up soup in a crock pot!.

If it will sit all day (8 hours or more), use low setting!. As for mushrooms, either would work, but fresh generally taste better (in my opinion)!.

I have made many soups in the crock pot, but have never put mushrooms in!. Have never seen mushrooms in soups aside from mushroom soup!. 2) Take your potatoe & cut it in half, then cut it in 1/3's down the side, then cut it many times from the top in opposite directions, like a tic tac toe!. Should give small even squares!. This is also good when making potato salad!. I cut them and boil them 12 min!. then the worst is done!.3) o!.k!. this is what I put in my chicken soup!. No potatoes, carrots, onion, celery, can add turnip, green pepper!. When its cooked I add noodles to half of it to make chicken noodle soup, then rice to the other half to make chicken and rice soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would use fresh mushrooms

The second question depends on how fast you need it and how small you will cut up the veggies

High for 6 if larger chunks
High for 4 if small

I never use Med setting

Low for 8 hours if smaller
low for 10 if largerWww@FoodAQ@Com

fresh so that they won't be so soggy and cook on med!. good luck and send me some!Www@FoodAQ@Com
