very very simple!! Either grate or roughly chop your chocolate until you have approx 4 teaspoons worth and put it in the bottom of a cup!. Then take milk that you have heated in a pan to JUST under boiling point and add a small amount to the bottom of a cup with the chocolate!. mix well then add the rest of the milk!. Want to make it a bit sexy, add a pinch of chilli powder for a winter warmer or some ground cinnamonWww@FoodAQ@Com
I've never had a galaxy bar before, I don' t think they sell them here!. Anyway, here is my homemade hot choc recipe!. Assuming the choc bar is just a plain milk chocolate bar, you can probably leave out half of the sugar and all of the cocoa!. If it is dark chocolate, you will want to substitute about half the bar for the cocoa, depending on how strong you want the flavour!. Melt the chocolate slowly in a double boiler (a smaller saucepan with the chocolate held in the hot water in a larger saucepan) or in the microwave, and add it to the mix!.
My Homemade Hot Chocolate:
1 tbsp cocoa
4 tbsp sugar or sweetener equivalent
4 tbsp powdered skim milk OR 1 cup milk
LARGE mug
boiling water
I make mine in a magic bullet cup, so i pour all of the ingredients in, blend for about 30 sec, and it comes out as a well mixed, frothy hot chocolate!. If you don't have a suitable blender, mix vigorously with a whisk or fork!.
Extra Flavours:
2 small candy canes for candy cane hot choc (keep stirring, they will melt in)
1 tbsp peanut butter (only if you have a blender, just stirring will cause it to be chunky) for peanut butter cup hot choc
a few drops of vanilla extract,
whipping cream (if you have a blender add it before you blend! ;) )
orange extract for orange hot chocolate
Hope this helps!

I am not too sure why you think bar chocolate is "proper chocolate"!. It is baking chocolate!.
But you need to melt the bar of chocolate, blend in some light cream, sugar to taste, a dash of cinnamon, and then fill the remainder out with hot milk!.
Melt the chocolate in double boiler on stovetop!. Blend in the cream and sugar and dash of cinnamon!. Keep stirring til it is all blended and sugar is dissolved!. Then add in the hot milk to make it the texture you wish!.
Other flavors like Amaretto, you can add with the hot milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
