I would go with a particular culture to avoid the temptation of just shoving some chips or a ready meal in the oven!. I would suggest either Indian or Mexican, possibly Thai!. Chinese can go badly wrong if you don't know what you're doing!.
There are lots of easy curries you can find from google or just buy a jar of Sharwoods curry (these are the best) I reccomend the Korma and some boil in the bag rice, some oven chips, naan breads and onion bhajis can all be bought at the supermarket ready to heat up!. For a starter use poppadoms (again sharwoods do lovely ones) with mango chutney!. This will give you enough food for leftovers for about £15!.
If you want mexican, do some oven cooked potato wedges (unseasoned) and put some chilli powder on them (you can find this in the dried herbs in the supermarket) and put them in the oven!. Make a garlic and sour cream dip with a cup of sour cream, 2 crushed cloves of garlic and mixed dried herbs!. Accompany these with some Old El Paso enchiladas and fahitas!. You get about 8 in a box so I would suggest only using half of each box since they are quite filling!. This will give you food for 4 for around £8!.
Both these ideas are cheap and easy to make, there will be instructions for heating on the packets and it all just goes in the oven!.
Good luck :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
