Answers:
Maybe you need to use less marshmallows or less butter!. Whichever it is, one of your wet ingredients is making the treats soft!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1/4 cup butter
4 cups miniature marshmallows
5 cups crisp rice cereal

DIRECTIONS
Melt margarine in large sauce pan over low heat!. Add marshmallows and stir until melted and well-blended!. Cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly!. Remove from heat!.
Add cereal!. Stir until well coated!.
Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly and firmly in buttered 13 x 9 inch pan!. Cut into 2 x 2 inch squares when cool!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I know what you were doing!. With the cinnamon candies on to look like wreaths, right!? Well, they will be gooey-that's just they way they are!. I tried making a big wreath once and I had to put a lot of butter on my hands when making it!. You could have colored the marshmallows green after melting them and used rice krispies and put them in a round or oval jello mold and when it was cooled, tip over upside down (hey, I might try that!)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because marshmallows have gelatin in them!.

Gelatin is created by boiling of connective tissue such as skin, cartilage, and bones obtained from the animal processing industry- YUMMY!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Corn Flakes don't have enough air in them to use in Marshmallow treats!. They should be good but just chewy no way to fix now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Corn flakes!? They get mushy!.!.!.You should use Rice "Crispies"!.
Oh and the previous answer about Gelatin!.!.!.it's true!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

maybe thats why the recipe calls for crispy rice cerealWww@FoodAQ@Com
