Ok always bake the bacon in strips don't fry use peppicorn bacon if you can find it!. or add a sprinkle to sauce!. instead of regualr pepper!. (curls the bacon) to fry and it comes out uneven!. Cook bacon till done but not to done (you don't want it chewy yet not hard know what I mean!. watch it bacon cooks fast!. use a medium size bacon to small cooks to fast, to large grizzle!. use roamain lettuce dry it completely with a paper towel!. Use bakery light rye bread!. depending on how many sandwiches you are making cut thin slices of tomatoes each sandwich should have 2 slices!. make sure that bacon in put on paper towel and all grease removed usually a piece of paper towel on each side will do!. sauce make to how many sandwiches would be lets say 4-6= 1/4 mayo, 1/8 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 c thousand island dressing!. dash of salt, dash of pepper, couple drops lemon or lime juice!. mix together and chill, for about 10 minutes or so!. you don't have to toast rye bread but you can mic for 10 seconds or lightly toast!. put sauce on bottom of bread, put romaine lettuce till it comes slightly out of the sides!. strip bacon on top lettuce then slices of tomatoe!. sauce top layer of bread as well!. and add more ramaine lettuce over the top!. want to zest it up add thin layer of colby or provolone cheese to top!. If you use this method you must lightly toast bread then mic or toaster oven it for a few seconds to melt cheese!. If you add cheese then don't add lettuce or tomatoe till after cheese is melted you want that part cold!. slice crosswise with nice tooth pick holding both sides together and serve with a chilled delli pickle slice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

4-6 strips bacon
2 tomatoes
1 avocado
1 lemon
1 tablespoon pesto sauce or freshly chopped basil
1 cup rocket lettuce
1 handful snow peas
1 handful string bean, trimmed and chopped
butter, for spreading
1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese or mozzarella cheese
Directions
1Fry bacon until cooked, and then cut into smaller, bite sized, pieces!.
2Meanwhile, bring a small pot of water to the boil!.
3When water is ready, throw in tomatoes for 15 seconds!.
4Scoop them out of pot and put into waiting bowl of cold water!.
5Peel skins off and dice!.
6Put peas and beans into pot of boiling water and cook for 1 minute!.
7You want them to remain crunchy!.
8Mash the avocado in a bowl!.
9Add basil and lemon!.
10Butter the bread and spread avocado thickly on slice!.
11Then top with a bit of rocket, a few diced tomatoes, bacon, peas, beans and finally the cheese!.

First, I would make homemade mayonnaise - just google a recipe and make sure you use a good quality dijon mustard!. Or, if you can't be bothered to make it, buy a good quality mayo and mix in some wholegrain mustard!. Find some heirloom tomatoes or some of the big ox tomatoes for great flavour!. If you have a farmer's market in your town you could go there for tomatoes and lettuce leaves!.
Instead of bacon, fry pancetta, which is similar to bacon just a bit more posh!.

Sure, use a good thick slice pepper smoked bacon, smoked gouda, heirloom tomato, Spring mix lettuce, fresh made mayonnaise, good crusty bread!. You can "double decker" it!.

Well, you could always use organic tomatoes and lettuce, a nice crispy sourdough roll and thick cut peppercorn bacon, with a vinegrette instead of mayo!.!.!. Honestly, a classic blt sounds too GOOD to change!. lolWww@FoodAQ@Com
