Baking brownies but don't have the correct-sized pan?!

Question: Baking brownies but don't have the correct-sized pan!?
I'm baking brownies, and it wants you to use a 9-inch square pan!. I only have one that's about 7!.5 inches!. Can I substitute the 7!.5-inch square pan for the 9-inch!? If so, how much longer, exactly, should I expect to bake them!?

If it's important, this is the recipe:

I realise this is probably far too late for me to give any extra information, however, the smaller pan would be perfectly fine; you'll just have thicker brownies!. If you've ever taken notice to boxed mixes, they give you a variety of options, from a 13 x 9 inch pan to an 8-inch square pan!. The brownies would probably just take a couple extra minutes!.

As for testing when brownies are done, you actually want them to still be a bit "raw" as opposed to a cake, which you would want completely baked through!. Brownies are so dense that they'll continue cooking in the pan well after you take them out of the oven!. That means if they are completely baked through when you take them out, you're going to have dry, hard edges and a dry middle!. But if you take them out when there is still some batter on a toothpick (some, not completely) they'll set up as they cool!. It's sort of like baking cheesecake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on how thick the batter is!. We usually use boxed one brownie mix, and we cook it for about 15-20min!. Until they look done!.You can also use a toothpick, when you pull it out of the brownies, and it doesn't have much mix on it they are done, if it does then put it back in, and check on it every couple minutes or so!.

Hope it helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

The size of the pan only decides the thickness of the brownie!. Just use a toothpick or a knife to test for done-ness!. If you enter the toothpick/or knife and it comes out clean without any brownie stuck on it, then they are done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you can, cook according to the directions and test it with a toothpick for "doneness!."Www@FoodAQ@Com
