Need help with baking cakes?!

Question: Need help with baking cakes!?
I recently moved into a new apartment with a very small stove!. Whenever I bake cakes, they almost always burn at the bottom!. I know ovens are different and I've even tried to adjust the temperature but still nothing!. The stove only has two racks but doesn't have a separate compartment for a broiler unlike my old stove!. I always bake cakes on the bottom rack, should I try baking on the top rack!? Any advice!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Try the top rack and turn the temp down a little!. You may have to try it a few times to get the right temp!. just keep a close eye on it while baking!. (I rotate my cakes half way through baking cause I have a cool side)
If that does not work then I would try baking the cake in a water bath!. That's where you set the cake pan inside a larger pan with some water in it!.
It insulates the first pan and is used to bake more delicate things like Quiech and cheese cake!.
If that does not work I would have some one come out and look at it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would definitely try baking on the top rack, as a matter of fact I always bake my cakes on the top rack!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
