What does gelatin do to chocolate mousse?!

Question: What does gelatin do to chocolate mousse!?
I forgot to add the unflavored gelatin to the chocolate mousse I made for my cake!. What will happen to the mousse!? It's too late to add it now because first of all it has turned into jello and second of all, the mousse has been in the fridge for an hour now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gelatin helps the mousse keep it's "shape" and holds it together!.!.!. if you don't add it you may end up with something similar to pudding!.!.!. soft, but still delicious!.

YOu can't add the gelatin now!.!.!. since it's already gelled into jello!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it has turned into jello, you don't need the gelatin!. All it does is to help firm up the mousse!. Sounds yummy!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
