1) Next time (or now if you have time and ingredients), add bay leaf and garlic and some herbs, like a bunch of fresh parsley, a few sprigs of basil!. This REALLY makes a big difference! You can use dried herbs too, if you don't have fresh ones!.
2) You probably need way more salt than you added!. I always end up under salting soup/stock when I make it at home!. It seems like I'm adding so much when I'm sprinkling it in there, but really I'm not since it's so much liquid!
3) It probably won't hurt to cook it longer!
If you're in a rush then you can do as others suggested and add chicken cubes or some broth from a box to mix with it!. I personally think that if you add some more salt the taste will probably improve, as I've made stock before in that amount of time and it tasted fine !.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Did you break up the chicken into pieces or just throw an entire chicken in the pot!? I break it up!. I saute the onions and carrots and a little wine and let cook!.
I add some seasonings besides salt and pepper!. I have a mix of seasonings called, "Spice Islands Herbes De Provence" I then add some crushed red peppers to spice it up a bit!. I add two cloves of several cloves of garlic!.
Other vegetables added are red peppers, and potatoes (diced)!.
Usually I will add some chicken broth to the pot, so it does not taste too watery!. You could take out several cups of the water and add broth!. That may help!.
Usually I use a 2 chicken breasts and cook it separately!. I hope yours turns out!. I feel you needed more vegetables and herbs!.
You could try adding them, but four hours is a lot of time already committed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

At this point, all you can do is to add some chicken broth to your soup along with more seasonings!. Next time, start out with only your chicken in the pot!. Salt and pepper, and garlic if you wish!. Taste and add water as needed!. When it is about halfway done, put in your veggies!. Add noodles last!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Try flaking the chicken meat, it will release the flavor to the soup!. And when you bite bits and pieces of the chicken with every spoonful of the soup, you'll taste more of the chicken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can always add a bouillion cube (or 2) to the broth, and some crushed garlic!. Did you add any herbs!? Sage, basil, oregano and rosemary would all be good in thereWww@FoodAQ@Com
Add a couple chicken boullion cubes!. This helps the broth taste a lot richer!. I also like thyme (fresh or dry) in my chicken noodle soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Add some chicken bouillon to help flavor it up!. Not too much though, because it is salty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
