Where can I buy a whole radicchio? I can only find it in premade salad bags?!

Question: Where can I buy a whole radicchio!? I can only find it in premade salad bags!?
I have a great recipe using whole radicchio but I can't find it at any of the major grocery stores!. I am guessing farmer's boxes might have them, but only if it is in season and/or if there is a demand for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Your best bet is a "high end" grocery store!. It'll vary depending on where you are in the country!.!.!.but Wegmans, Whole Foods, Harry's, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

is this the same (i believe it is) as chicory (sometimes called endive) pungent/bitter leaf (usually blanched by covering the plant with a pot to exclude light)used in salads!.
try asking for it by it's other names
hope this helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

I saw some in Wal-mart Super center, P+C, Wegmans!.

You can use red cabbage in place of radicchio!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
