How do you cook raw sausage in a pan? ?!

Question: How do you cook raw sausage in a pan!? !?
I usually get already-cooked sausages but I wanted to try raw sausages links (pork)!. I tried to cook them but because I'm afraid that it could be undercooked, I overcooked them!. Is there a certain method!? Someone told me to add water!.!.!.I haven't tried that yet!. Just want to see if there are methods I should know about!.

thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I add about a half inch of water in the pan, add the sausages and cover!. steam and cook till the water is gone, then brown on all sides!. they will be finished!. No need to add any extra oil as the cooking in water makes plenty fat come out of the sausage to brown them!.
If I want something different, it is at the browning stage that I add peppers and onions to brown with the meat!.
the best way to prevent overcooking or undercooking of any meats is to get a thermometer!. They are relatively cheap!.
beef and pork=145 degrees is done
chicken or turkey=165 degrees is done!.
ground beef should be 165 as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you never cut a sausage link previous to cook!. any kink of cased sausage!.
By the way, their is a lot of different sausages out their!. A little skinny breakfast sausage will cook differently from a wider Italian type sausage!.
Italian sausage can be browned in a skillet then added to a tomato sauce and slow cook in the sauce for an approx!. hour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the easiest would be to flatten them like a small hamburger and squish them with a spatula until no more red juice comes out and brown!. another is to roll them into small thin links rolling them over on low-med heat cutting just a little bit into the center to make sure they are no longer pink :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

you can cut them up or just cook them!.
wait till their kinda crispy or golden brown
if you cook it whole then just cut it a bit in the middle to check!.
dont worry im pretty sure youll know!.
yea you can add water
it makes it so the sausage isnt as oily or greasyWww@FoodAQ@Com

Use a low-medium heat!. Give them some color, then add a little water and let it cook thru!. Use a little non salted chicken broth (found at wal-mart by wylers) inthere instead of just plain old water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I add about an inch of water to the pan, add the sausages and cover!.

Cook until the water is gone and it's golden brown!.

Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
