Are caramel apples really as difficult to make as most people say?!

Question: Are caramel apples really as difficult to make as most people say!?
I have been told by countless people that they are one of the harder things to make, mainly because they are so messy!. That isn't usually a determining factor in the difficulty of something since lots of simple and easy recipes make huge messes too!. But I can't see paying someone upwards of $6+/each for something that should be easy to do at home, especially since so many magazines talk about how easy they are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use caramel sheets instead of melting the caramel!.

You just put over the top of the apple, trim the sheet and tuck the extra under the apple and there is no mess at all!.

I think I saw them at Walmart last fall!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
