How can i make my dinner more interesting?!

Question: How can i make my dinner more interesting!?
i'm having steak for dinner tonight, and by itself it will be pretty boring!! i'm also having vegetables (potato, carrot, broccoli, asparagus) -- so tell me how to make it more interesting! how do you like your steaks!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
you could turn the dinner into a Rembrandt painting by rearranging those potatoes, carrots, broccoli and asparagus!?!?!?!? we'll since your having steak anyway i know this is going to sound quite strange!. however i often cut the meat into small squares use the pieces to construct a little building with the potatoes and gravy surrounding it like one of those motes!. the carrots become little canoes floating in the gravy and the broccoli stems are bushes that decorate the plate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ingredients:
Boneless sirloin or ribeye steak
Salt and ground pepper to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 medium onion, sliced (optional)
Handful fresh mushrooms, sliced (optional)
2-3 cloves garlic, minced or crushed
1/8 teaspoon dried pepper flakes or red pepper powder
3 tablespoons red wine (or cooking wine)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons balsalmic vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon butter

How to make this recipe:
Once the steak has cooked, you need to work fast to finish this dish!. For best results, assemble and measure out all ingredients before cooking!

Pat steak dry!. In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and cook steak!. See notes for determining doneness!. I cook 3/4" steaks for about 4 minutes each side to achieve a doneness of medium!.

Once cooked to desired doneness, lightly season with salt and ground pepper, then transfer steak to a platter and keep warm!.

Pour off most of the drippings from the skillet!. Add onion, if desired, and saute over moderate heat for several minutes!. Add mushrooms, if desired, and saute for a few more minutes!.

Add garlic and red pepper flakes/powder; saute for 10 seconds!.

Add wine and boil a few seconds until almost all liquid is evaporated!.

Add soy sauce, vinegar and honey; bring to a simmer, stirring!. Add butter and stir over low heat until melted!. Spoon sauce over steak and serve!.

Notes: Serving suggestion:
Perfect with fresh greens tossed with sliced red onion, tomato and an herbal vinaigrette dressing!. Serve with redskin potatoes mashed with roasted garlic or simply a classic baked potato, and rolls!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try putting horseradish in some butter and letting it melt on top of the steak!.!.!.it is super fancy restaurant style delicious!! If you don't have horseradish, try mincing some garlic and adding that to the butter instead!. You can find recipes for 'steak with horseradish butter' if you do a search!. Bon apetit!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some garlic butter on it would make it different!.
A garnish is always good, I love those spiced apples that come in a jar, very colorful, and they always cut the rich taste of the rest of the meal!. Some of the lemon pineapple carrot jello I just talked about would be good!.
Some au jus to dip the steak in would be good!. and some lovely crusty bread to dip too!.
Go nuts with the potatoes, a baked potato with the fixings, some browned potatoes, flavored with garlic or not!. A cheesy twice baked potato!. I would even like some home fries and onions, fried in bacon greae, of course!.
Cole slaw, or a fruited green sald would be the perfect foil for the meat and the veggies!.
Try some garlic bread with cheese, or some onion rings, or some tomatoes topped with parmesan and broiled!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
