Can you freeze cooked rice?!
Answers:
rice does have spores in it that can't always be killed by reheating so to stop it multiplying you have to cool the rice fast - take it out of the pot because the pot retains heat, spread it out, cover it, leave it somewhere cool - then portion and freeze it - reheat it to at least 75c for a couple of mins - and eat it hot
the bacteria forms a protective spore in heat - in this form it doesn't make you sick - its when you let it cool and it comes out of its shell and starts partying and making bacteria babies that causes problems
ps i work at a cafe - we serve rice - it comes in frozen portions - haven't killed anyone yet to my knowledgeWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes you can i do it all the time!. i part cook rice then freeze it down in portions, no need to get a pan on the stove every time you want rice!. Finish cooking straight from the freezer (add a little water) in the microwave (clingfilmed) to get lovely fluffy rice!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have!. My daughter (16 months old) eats whatever we eat for dinner!. Usually, I'll make some extra and then freeze it in little dishes for nights when our schedules are off!. I have frozen cooked rice in with other things and it has stayed fine when it is defrosted!. I hope that helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Absolutely!. Although I usually like to serve it with a bit of gravy or cheese in case it gets a bit tough or dried out!. Stir fry or rice pudding are some other good ways to reheat it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Thanks for asking this I have wondered myself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
