Most Useful Cookware?!
Let's talk about which single piece of cookware is most important to you and give an explanation(s), please also include the material of the cookware!.
I want to listen to some interesting idea, so please don't feel like you have to agree with me!.
In my case, my carbon-steel wok is most important to me!. Both, because I stir-fry often and also because it is a fairly versatile cookware!.

For me, it's my (6qt) slow cooker!.
I can make stews (beef stews, chili, goulash, gumbos), soups (any kind), roasts (beef, chicken, ham), and so much more!.!. you can even bake breads and desserts in it(although I haven't tried it yet)!.
The best thing is, with most recipes, you can put everything together in the morning, set it to "low", and just go about your day!.!.!. by evening, you have dinner! It's virtually foolproof, and there are many many wonderful slow cooker recipes out there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have a carbon-steel wok that I like using!. I've even made grilled cheese sandwiches in it!. I love it for french fries!.!.!.really!.
But, If I had to keep just one piece of cookware it would be my large cast iron skillet!. I just can't see myself baking in a wok!. But, I could make biscuits, cakes, pies and casseroles in my cast iron skillet--even custard sauces if I had to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have lots of 60s/70s cast iron/enamel pots that I've collected!. I love using them because they're incredibly colourful and well made!. They distribute the heat extremely well and they're made in an excellent variety of shapes that make much more sense than the stupid stainless steel stuff you buy today!. It's a shame we've moved to the mass produced rubbish of today!
Edit: Probably my bright orange No 20 Cousances saucepan/dutch oven!. Got it for $10 at a market (they're worth a fortune - better than Le Creuset) and even though it's been heavily used for 40 years, it still looks brand new - you just can't cook a bad meal in it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most useful cookware is my favorite All-Clad Saucier pan, with handle!. Extremely versatile, easy to clean, conducts even heat, well balanced!.
