Answers:
What causes picky eaters is parents not exposing their children to different tastes and textures at a very early age!. First foods don't need to come from a jar and don't need to be spoon fed!. Other countries don't have picky eaters because their infants and toddlers are fed the same foods that their parents are eating!.!.!.even if it is sushi, hot peppers, or curry!.

My 13 month old will eat absolutely anything!. But from the time he could self feed (7ish months) I put in front of him the same (healthy) foods that I was eating!. He never had a jar of Gerber crud or rice cereal!. He had real steamed veggies, real brown rice, spicy enchiladas, sauces and pastas!.

Too many parents now a days think that they need to feed their children junk from the baby aisle!. If people just started exposing their children to all sorts of flavors at an early age we wouldn't have toddlers and young children who eat nothing but mac and cheese and chicken fingers!.

Parents also have to set an example!. If mom and dad are chowing away on chicken wings and not eating healthy foods themselves, a child will want to do the same!. Kids are greatly influenced by their parents!. When I eat something that my son has never had I make a big production of saying "yum yum!." My son will always want to grab what is on my plate!.!.!.!.even if its asparagus or broccoli!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sensitivity and amount of taste buds varies from person to person, so while one person may find a wide variety of foods to be pleasing to their taste buds, another may have a harder time finding foods to positively stimulate their taste buds!.

I think to a degree, kids have to be told to eat foods they don't "like" in order to maintain a balanced diet!. Many times, kids say they don't like a food only because they are unwilling to try something new, or because it's not one of their favorite foods, such as candy or pizza!. They may not really dislike broccoli, they just simply prefer a less healthy food to munch on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Aside from the TV, kids get most of their cues regarding food from their parents!. If the parents are picky eaters or live on convenience/junk food, the kids are far more likely to follow suit!.

My mother never forced food down my throat, but I was required to try new foods before leaving the table!. Once I had, she would let the issue go!.
If she made a meal for my father and herself that she knew I wouldn't eat, she would make macaroni and cheese or noodles with egg and a vegetable for me!.

My tastes did change as I aged, and I started eating new foods on my own!. I wouldn't touch mushrooms when I was 3, but I love them now at age 28!.

I would offer an alternative healthy food, even if it's a PB&J on whole wheat, but NEVER allow them to fill themselves on junk food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Kids should be made to at least TRY a bite of everything on their plate!. They don't even know what they like; and that changes from day to day anyways:) !.!.!. Repetitious dinners; overcooked vegetables; underseasoned food; and presentations that aren't eye-appealing cause picky eaters - and also parents who won't eat (or try) different things!. I've always tried to try out one new recipe each week, and 1 new vegetable!. I've always made sure it was a balanced meal of entree, starch and vegetable; with color combinations that are eye-appealing - and have always offered some sort of fresh fruit AND fresh salad with each meal!. !.!.!.!. My daughters ate everything (artichokes, caviar, Caesar salad, sushi, etc) when they were children; and now my grandkids eat everything, and are all especially fond of vegetables!Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think you should at least get them to try it once!.
bribe them if you have to
but i don't think a child should be forced to eat something he/she doesn't want to eat!.

my mom didn't push me to eat carrots or green peppers when i was little !. she just let me Develop a taste for them and as i got older i love them!Www@FoodAQ@Com

They should try it before they say they dont like it!. When kids are little their personalities and taste buds are still developing!. When i was younger i loooved mayonaise, and today i cant stand it!. If they have given it a chance and ate as much as they could stand then i think thats good enough!. Dont try to force super healthy foods down kids throats, try different things that taste good, but are still healthy for them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They should at least have to try it!. I always loved eating broccoli because
1!. I pretended I was eating trees!. hehe
2!. For a treat, my mom would cook the broccoli but, she'd put a small amount of chicken bouillon so it gives the broccoli the slightest chicken taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, they will like it eventually!. I was a very picky eater but as I grew older I wanted to try all the things I didnt like and stopped eating them!. Now I love beans!. also tv made me a picky eater!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I dont know, i guess their parents, and theyre picky from the start anyways!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
