Question: Trying to make homemade tomato sauce!. How do I do it, what do I use!? :)!?
Please!! I love Tomato sauce in Italian restaurants but not at all in jars from the store!. So I'm wondering if you can help me!.

How would I make good tomato sauce for penne pasta!? What spices, how much, and do I use crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato puree or tomato paste!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

1# hamburger or meat of your choice, onion, celery,green pepper,all chopped fine add to meat and cook until transparent, add 1 QT!. of crushed tomatoes!. 1 small can about 2-3 oz of tom paste, a little water to thin sauce if needed!. 1T oregano, 1T basil, 1/2 T garlic powder!. I T thyme, 1T rosemary, and anything else that suits your fancy, cook for 45-1 hour until all simmers well!.!.!.!.Make this a day ahead before using!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

BASIC ITALIAN TOMATO SAUCE

1 lg!. onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can tomato paste
2 lg!. cans tomato sauce
1 c!. water
1/3 c!. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook onion in a small amount of olive oil until onion is golden but not brown!. Add garlic and saute 3 minutes longer!. Add the tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, sugar, and spices; bring to a simmer very slow until the sauce is thick and a deep red!. Serve with meatballs!.
Makes about 2 quarts!.

VITALE'S ITALIAN TOMATO SAUCE

2 lg!. cans tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
2 cans crushed tomatoes
Pinch salt
Pinch pepper
Italian seasoning to taste, about 1 handful

Strain crushed tomatoes; add 2 cans tomato sauce, 1 can paste, 1 can cold water, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning to taste!. Cook over low heat for 2 or 3 hours!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

One can of diced tomatoes!.

One can of tomatoe paste!.

One can of Ragu Spaghetti sauce!.



Mix the full can of Diced tomatoes in with 1/2 the can of Tomatoe paste, & 1/2 the can of Ragu!.


Bring to a boil!. Let simmer!. Add Rosemary!. Garlic!. And salt & fresh ground pepper to taste :)
