What are some good things to put in a homemade pie?!

All-time favorite fruit pie is strawberry-rhubarb, followed by plum-necterine, peach, and then cherry!.
All-time favorite meat pie is pork-potato (pastie), vegetable pot-pie, spinach-artichoke-bacon-cheese quiche, and broccoli-cheese quiche!.

Apple Crisp
6 cups of sliced, peeled, & cored apples (or peaches or pears)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/3 cup soft margarine
Get out a two quart casserole dish and oil it well!. Place the prepared apples or peaches into the dish and sprinkle the lemon juice over them!. Set them aside!. In a medium sized bowl, combine the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and cloves!. Add the margarine!. If the margarine is soft, it will be an easy matter to mix it in with a fork!. If the margarine is hard, you can melt it in the microwave or in a small pan on the stove!. The topping will be a little less crumbly, but still very good!. After the oatmeal mixture is well mixed and crumbly, scatter it over the apples in the casserole!. It will cover them thickly!. Now put the casserole in the oven and bake it at 350° for about 40 minutes!. Remove from the oven and serve hot with whipped cream or Whipped Topping!. Serves 6!. This is really good made with peaches or pears too!. Choose which ever fruit is most abundant!. Peaches in the summertime, apples and pears in the fall and winter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

c!. Line a greased baking dish,
and fill it with the chicken pieces!.
d!. Pour the cream gravy over!.
e!. Drop pastry in spoonful on top,
of the chicken and gravy!.
f!. Bake until biscuit are golden brown!.
Orange Pie
Ingredients
2 tablespoons flour
200g sugar
1 whole egg
2 egg yolks
2 egg whites (reserved for frosting)
3 large oranges (grated rind)
1 tablespoon butter
250 ml boiling water
Action
a!. Combine all and cook in double boiler,
stirring constantly!.
b!. Put it in the baked crust and frost,
with the 2 egg whites!.

Ingredients for Crust
300g flour
125g caster sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
200g chilled butter
Preparation
a!. Combine flour, sugar and salt,
in a mixer!.
b!. Cut the butter into small pieces,
and mix into the flour!.
c!. Set the mixer to dough,
and knead the dough to a ball!.
d!. Grease a 24 cm cake pan,
and press 2/3 of the dough into,
the bottom of the pan!.
e!. Place the pan and the remaining dough,
in the refrigerator until ready to use!.
Ingredients for Fillings
1000g firm apples
(peeled, corded and sliced)
100g raisins
100 ml orange or lemon juice
2 teaspoons custard powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons apricot jam
Action
a!. Preheat oven to 175°C or 347°F!.
b!. In a saucepan bring the raisins,
and juice to boil and leave,
to simmer about 5 minutes,
until the liquid has evaporated!.
c!. Put apples in a bowl,
mix with boiled raisins,custard,
cinnamon and sugar!.
d!. Arrange the filing over the cake base!.
e!. Roll out the rest of the dough,
on slightly floured table!.
f!. Cut the dough into one cm strips,
and arrange them on top,
of the mixture!.
g!. Place the cake in the lower level,
of the oven,and bake for 45 minutes,
until golden brown and cooked!.
h!. Remove cake and brush with apricot jam!.
i!. Allow to cool in the cake pan,
for 10 minutes and serve on flat dish!.
Note: You may go with whipped cream,
or vanilla custard!.

apple pie is easy, and for dinner sometimes i mix
1 can of cream of chicken,
1/2 -1 can of another cream of( like celery,mushroom,cheese!.!.!.etc!.)
2 cubed cooked chicken breasts
3 cups frozen or fresh cooked veggies (I normally put in mixed frozen
pre cooked veggies)
1/4 tsp of salt and pepper
Its very good and feeds a lot of people if needed
of course you could alter all the ingredients to your tastes i sometimes though left over ham or turkey in!.!.!.yumWww@FoodAQ@Com
