When does vinegar go bad?!

Question: When does vinegar go bad!?
I used some vinegar today and couldn't find any dates on it and there some specks floating around in it, but nothing serious!. It's my dad's vinegar and I really wanted to put some on my chips, so I did!. Will this harm me if it is out of date or do most vinegars gradually get like this!? It's stored in a cool, closed cupboard!.

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
vinegar lasts up to 6 years after opening as long as you don't contaminate it in any way the specks you saw floating was the east coming to the surface a good shake will eliminate that it will not harm you in any way you will taste the diff rents when its life span is on the way out it wont taste so strong but will never harm anyone in any way always replace the lid after you finish using itWww@FoodAQ@Com

When a bottle of vinegar is opened, the mother of vinegar may develop!. It is considered harmless and can be removed by filtering!. Colloquially-collected knowledge recommends an expiration or shelf-life date of 12-18 months,[27] although no reference explicitly states its toxicity!. Various records can be found warning of decomposition of flavoring elements, such as whole leaves, prepared in the vinegar!.

Mother of vinegar is a substance composed of a form of cellulose and acetic acid bacteria that develops on fermenting alcoholic liquids, which turns alcohol into acetic acid with the help of oxygen from the air!. It is added to wine, cider, or other alcoholic liquids to produce vinegar!.

Mother of vinegar can also form in store-bought vinegar if there is some non-fermented sugar and/or alcohol contained in the vinegar!. While not appetizing in appearance, mother of vinegar is completely harmless and the surrounding vinegar does not have to be discarded because of it!. It can be filtered out using a coffee filter, or simply left in and ignored!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
