Fondant is basically sugar and water so it's going to taste like the filling in a twinkie!. Marshmallow fondant is pretty good, it's simple and well, tastes like marshmallows =) I can't think of any kid who wouldn't like it!. You can ask the bakery if they do any additional flavors, some do specialize in fruit flavors!.
Hope this helps and I hope you have a great birthday party!.

I just checked on wiki - the main filling in a cadbury creme egg is fondant!. Maybe that's something you've tried!. I love those things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It tastes like sweet glue!. It's not very tasty like other frostings!. It's meant to look good!. Most cakes covered with fondant rely on really good tasting cake and fillings to make up for the lack of it's taste!. Hope this helps!. Kids wont mind or notice that much as long as the cake tastes good and icecream is served!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
