I never rinsed mine!. In fact I'm making white chili right now, made with chicken white kidney beans, onions, garlic and chicken stock!. I just drained the beans I didn't rinse them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

canned beans, often preserved in the water they were cooked in, have a tendency to take on the taste of the can, having a metallic tang!. Most if not all of that flavor can be disposed of by rinsing the canned beans!. It is standard procedure in restaurants with salad bars to rinse all canned kidney, garbanzo, and green beans before adding either to three bean salad, or adding them alone to the salad bar choices!. They taste fresher rinsed, and have less salt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I rinse the beans, because it helps reduce the "toots"!. The liquid they are canned in is basically indigestible sugars, which ferments in the bowel, causing the gas!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always rinse the beans!. First they can be to salty and that throws off the flavors from your recipe and second, I don't like that slimy substance they sit it!. !. !. all those preservatives, not so good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It isn't necessary, but if you want to get any residue off of them then you should!. But since they are gonna cook in a vat anyway, if there's anything on them it will just get cooked away!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If they are canned, you don't need to rinse them!. Just pour away!. Even pour in the juice in the can!.

You really only need to rinse and soak regular (not canned) beansWww@FoodAQ@Com

My recipe calls for the Kidney Beans to be undrained!. If you're starting with DRY Kidney Beans then rinsing and soaking is necessary!. At times we're advised to rinse canned goods to wash away salt, since there is an enormous amount of sodium in most canned foods!. I don't add any additional salt to my chili so no rinsing for me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do, but it really isn't necessary!. The starch in the liquid will thicken the chilliWww@FoodAQ@Com
