Bachelor making vegetable soup with mixed veggies and V8: what seasonings should I use?!
Instead of buying that expensive canned soup, I'm making my own but it will probably be pretty bland!. I have black pepper; what else might I use!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
V-8 makes an excellent soup base! I use it for chili and beef vegetable soup!.
Garlic powder is a must!. If you like spicy sprinkle in a good dose of Hungarian hot paprika (I use that in my chicken and dumplings!. YUM!)
If you're not vegetarian I'd add some beef broth granules to it and maybe a few dashes of soy sauce!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm!. Be careful!. V8 is very salty!.
You would probably get a better "stew" (which is what you'd get with V8's consistency) if you used tomato paste cut with some water!. In that case you could use a little garlic pepper, a little sea or kosher salt, a little oregano!. Tomato paste will let you use a wider array of vegetables and spices to your taste without having to fight the strong, strong V8 taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd do salt (Lawry's or some seasoned salt), pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, italian herb seasoning if you have it, if you like spicy maybe a little cayenne or red pepper!. Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
