It is delicious!.
You have to use a large frying pan, preferably one with a lid!. Use bacon drippings, or fry some bacon and reserve it to crumble on top!. Wash your cabbage, cut into quarters, cut the core out of each quarter, then slice thinly as if to shred!. Cut an onion into rings, separate the rings!. Place cabbage in pan, top with onion rings, over medium heat with bacon drippings, tossing carefully to coat!. Load with salt and pepper, slap the lid on and let simmer for about 10 minutes!. Toss, replace lid and let cook another 5 minutes!. Serve hot!.
Really good with beans that have been simmered with a ham bone, soft fried potatoes and cornbread -- and a tall glass of iced tea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Halushki is a Carptho-Rusyn standby!. Cut the cabbage up in thin strips!. Cook with diced onions and a lot of butter!.
While the cabbage and onions are cooking, cook some wide egg noodles in boiling water!. Drain them well when done!. Add to the pan of cabbage, stir well, add some salt and serve!. If the dish seems dry, you can add some more melted butter, a little at a time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
