Question: Help!.!.no butter and I want to bake chocolate cookies!.!?
Does anyone have a successful recipe for cookies, using oil instead of butter!?, (no shops nearby), maybe one you have used yourself!?
I had one and lost it in the house move!.
It was a good one too!
I have promised these hungry kids, and now I have to deliver!.!.!.soon!.

You can usually substitute vegetable shortening (like Crisco) for butter!. You might need to increase the amount a little!.

When I make chocolate chip cookies, I use 1/2 butter & 1/2 shortening, but when the recipe calls for 3/4 cup butter, I use 1/2 cup of each!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
