What are these and how do I cook them?!

Question: What are these and how do I cook them!?
I got some glass jars from my neighbor a while ago!. Some had pasta, some had dried beans!. I have this odd shaped pea/bean thing that I've never seen before!.

They are brown, round but flat!. They look like fish scales, but smaller!. I just really want to know what they are!. I've made beans and peas before, but these are different!. They are smaller than regular split peas but flat!.

I pulled out some beef and want to make them in a soup!. So my question is what are they and how do I cook them!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I would guess they are lentils!. You can put them in soup, or make a vegetarian meal with them!. By themselves, they are sort of tasteless, but add some onions, celery and garlic, a can of diced tomatoes, some ground cumin, curry powder and ginger and you have a tasty meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Uh could be lentils, which are legumes!. Small disc shaped legumes!. Cook them like beans, but there is no need to soak them!. Since they are smaller and shaped different they cook a lot quickerWww@FoodAQ@Com

You've got yourself some brown lentils!. They also come in green and red!. Those will be good in lentil soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I am not mistaken, I think that you have lima beans!. But then you said that they are brown!. I don't know but I'll look into it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds like lentils!. Make lentil soup!.!.Very good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
