Icing a cake. pan or no pan?!

Question: Icing a cake!. pan or no pan!?
So a girl I know says that icing a funfetti cake is better to ice when it is in a pan rather than out of the pan!. The type of cake does not matter!. The argument that I am having is that if you ice the cake on the outside of the pan, you will be able to ice the sides and it will be easier to cut!. Do you think you should ice a cake in the pan or not!?!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
out would be much easier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it is in a round or square pan, I would say OUT of the pan!.!.!. for the reason you said!.!.!. you'll be able to ice the sides!.

Only reason I'd leave it in the pan is if I made it in a 9x13 pan and would be leaving it in their for serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it's in a 9x13 sheet pan, keep it in the pan, ice just the top!.

If it's a layer cake, take out of the pan and aice all over!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Out of the pan!. It's pretty rare that I would leave a cake in the pan to ice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Outside of the pan is best!.!.!.it's also easier to ice if its frozen and then allowing it to thaw before eating!Www@FoodAQ@Com
