Oatmeal at Night? Healthy or not healthy?!

Question: Oatmeal at Night!? Healthy or not healthy!?
I can't help it, I'm a nite owl!. I'll stay up till 1 or 2 in the morning!. I am dieting and trying to lose weight, and I know eating late is bad, but if I'm going to eat my final food at around 11-12 and not go to bed till 1 or 2, is a small helping of oatmeal with maybe a side of apples a good and healthy choice!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I just read from the book (eat this not that) that oatmeal with sliced banana and walnuts would be a good thing to eat before going to bed,as sleep is inspired by the hormone melatonin, bring your brain back down to earth by whipping up a bowl of instant oatmeal and topping it with a sliced banana and crushed walnuts, both rich in melatonin!. And, cherry juice is one of the best natural sources of melatonin!. try knudsen "Just Black Cherry" with 100% cherry juice!. Good luck! I am a late night er too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There's not really anything wrong with eating late at night, or even close to bed, as long as you're not eating a lot and it's not terribly heavy or spicy (since lots of food, heavy food, and spicy food can cause indigestion!.)

Oatmeal and apples would be fine!. I eat cereal or a few crackers before bed all the time, since I'm a night owl too, and it's never troubled me any!. The concept of eating at night causing weight gain seems pretty unfounded, really!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
